So since the internship fair, a lot went on. I had a junior show with my fellow classmates and how lovely it was! I didn’t get RA, but I’m still happy with what I have, working at the Student Affairs Office and all. I guess I should post some of my stuff up now :)

Aaah, internship fair. I’m currently preparing for it by creating and designing my website right now. I never knew web design would be rocket science for me. I keep getting to a 404 page. UUUGGGGH.

It’s really annoying. I’ve been at it for hours, and the best I’ve got is the welcome page and the index/home page with only ONE link to another page (works). I need to add a few more pages (about me, contact, etc.) Jeez, it’s so difficult. Not to mention, a pet peeve of mine is that .ico thing…the little blue icon next to my site name on the address bar. It’ll also show up on the tabs. It won’t…go…away. I’ve even tried to download the .ico plug-in for photoshop to try to make my own, but it’s not working that I had to email my web teacher. rawr.

I hope to get this resolved soon, as my internship fair is this coming Thursday.

Spring Semester…It’s been a month since it’s started.

Another semester of sleep deprivation and immense traffic. I swear, traffic gets worse every semester…I’m pretty sure it didn’t take me an hour and 15 minutes to get to school from home. Jeez.

Well, I’m actually enjoying this semester, though it’s still full of many challenges. I guess my favorite class this semester so far is typography (shock!!) and package design. I’ve never known that I would be this interested in package design. Type is still such a challenge for me though. Last week for package design, we had to create rough mock ups of our redesign for La Llave coffee. Because I procrastinated (literally, did my hw 2 hours before class started), I didn’t think much about type. I used Helvetica and Copperplate. I even forgot my teacher is actually a typographer…oops. He pointed it out, asking me what typeface I was using, and all I could do was try not to laugh and apologize to him for committing such a sin. What a great class it was. 

I’m currently completely revising of what I have above. Target audience: Seniors (60-70)

Type Video (Project 1 out of 3)

As for the type project…it’s supposed to be a final. Unfortunately, there was a black out at my school, and I couldn’t do my hw which was due within 2 hours. I did it about an hour before class started, which is why the audio and the type isn’t as great as it was supposed to be. I’m horrible student. 

Web design takes up a lot of my time and tends to give me headaches. It’s not as exciting as I thought it would be, but I’ve been learning a lot. As for bookstructures, let’s just say it takes up ALL my money (after gas and food), and it’s been keeping me up. I’ve messed up on every hw and book that I’ve made. Ugh. Those supplies are expensive, as well. It doesn’t seem expensive, but when you buy the things you need, it ends up being $20 and over. 

Second assignment…or was it third? Basically, pick three sites that you: a) use frequently; b) like; c) and one you hate. For this one, we used our first CSS.

I had one of the best (if not the best) title sequence in my whole class!

My show was Criminal Minds, and I had to create a whole new opening (with a newly designed logo) for this!

As for now,I’m still working on my homework.

I have such a busy and tight schedule this week (finals) and I have so much things to do! I have to revise and finish up my process book for Identity Systems & Design. I was thinking of french folding, which my friend, Jennifer, will help me with! :)

Busy with school.

Multi-Tasking.

I’m doing a record cover with my friend Janet for the AIGA record cover show at my school!! Those little things are robots that I’ve come up with (and below)

Type, CommStudio, Identity&Systems…Very difficult to keep up with EVERYTHING. I’m having trouble coming up with better concepts, and I’m trying my hardest…I just hope I don’t fail any classes, though I feel like I will for my LAS class, Aesthetics of Politics. She keeps grading my blogs down everytime I disagree with her political stance or views. RAWR!!

Another week…

I didn’t do much over this weekend…AGAIN.

We had our mini posters show! It was quite nice. I was happy with the outcome of my posters, and I think majority of everyone did well on their posters as well.

Identity Systems & Design:

Worst class ever. I now do not plan on designing logos, EVER. I hate that class, and it’s the stress of my life! If I didn’t take that class, I think I would be a lot less stressed. 

I keep getting stuck with mine, and I need help. Every week, I spend a lot of time on the assignments, but when I present it, the teachers just aren’t satisfied with what I have. It’s driving me nuts. I think I’ll stick with posters. I’ll have to see how package designing and web designing goes :/
